Copied by Fortes

While some say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, when it comes to designing HIUs we are very proud of the technology we pioneer, so when competitors blatantly copy our technology and pass it off as their own we feel a need to say something.

This article provides an evidence trail of how Fortes has copied our HIUs.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT CERTAIN KEY SOFTWARE FEATURES WE HAVE DEVELOPED ARE PROTECTED UNDER UK LAW BY REGISTERED PATENTS.

Design

The two PDFs below say it all - the first is our on original schematic, designed in partnership with HSF, detailing the design of our twin plate HIU (the DATA). Below it is a knock-off HIU from Fortes that can't match the performance (as the schematic does not give away our software) but may lead one to believe it is the same system.

The copying goes back a long way. Take one of Fortes' first HIUs - the Arctic - and compare this to our own DIGI, launched a number of years earlier.

At least we can say that our first fix bracket is now manufacturer independent.
